Melania Trump is rarely seen outside her Mar-a-Lago residence, and her lack of presence in the area is reportedly intriguing to the regulars at the private members' club.

Before Donald Trump became a U.S. president, his wife was reportedly often sighted by Mar-a-Lago members, especially in the club's beauty parlor. However, these past few months, she was rarely seen in public, and the residents allegedly find it mysterious.

"Nobody knows where she is. It's like a mystery. It's certainly talked about," Laurence Leamer, author of "Mar-A-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump's Presidential Palace" and a longtime resident in Palm Beach, told the Telegraph. "She rarely exits Mar-a-Lago. It's a strange, isolated life they have in that place."

Leamer has been banned for life from Mar-a-Lago due to his reporting. However, according to him, he still has a lot of friends who are regulars at the club, and they are reportedly bemused by Melania's absence from the social scene.

There are speculations that Melania is reluctant to return to the White House amid her husband's bid for the presidency. Leamer believes this has something to do with their son Barron, 17, for their return to the executive mansion could likely subject the teenager to more scrutiny.

"She wants to protect him... and if Trump was back in the White House, Barron will be all over the news because he's an adult [now]," Leamer added.

However, another insider suggested otherwise. Trump's wife is reportedly more confident about returning to the White House and is even preparing to be the first lady again. The ex-FLOTUS was reportedly more assured of herself after the positive reception she received when she attended Rosalynn Carter's funeral last month.

"Trump and his family are so secure that he will become president again that insiders at Mar-a-Lago say he's reached an agreement with [wife] Melania [Trump] to step up top-tier diplomatic appearances in 2024," an unnamed insider told Page Six.

Melania is reportedly making more public appearances in 2024. Her recent public appearance was at a naturalization ceremony at the National Archives on Dec. 15.

"Melania realizes it's her time to join the ranks of historic first ladies and leave her mark on history... She feels better prepared for her potential role the second time around," the insider added.

Melania also sent her holiday greetings to her supporters on X, formerly Twitter.

"Merry Christmas," she wrote in the caption alongside of a festive with the texts that read "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year."
