Meghan Markle once got candid about what she wanted to change in herself.

In 2016, the former "Suits" actress was still active in her lifestyle blog, The Tig. In one entry, she shared a list of her New Year's resolutions while admitting that she struggled to keep them, especially after a "few drinks," and even described one as "unladylike."

"Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year's resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year. The marathon hasn't happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple of drinks," Markle wrote, Express reported.

Markle notably expressed her interest in re-learning French. She studied the language through high school but reportedly forgot it when she started speaking Spanish with Argentinians in Buenos Aires.

"I have put my little Rosetta Stone headset in my eager ears every year, resolving to do interviews en francais, but much to my chagrin, it hasn't stuck," the Duchess of Sussex added.

She continued, "And when it comes to the biting of the nails, well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It's unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit."

Since her New Year resolutions keep coming back on her list, for that year, Markle decided not to make any resolutions anymore.

"For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher," Markle wrote.

"My New Year's resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change."

Markle made the post months before her royal romance with Prince Harry was made public. On Nov. 8, 2016, Prince Harry released a statement confirming his relationship with Markle in a bid to protect her from paparazzi and negative attention, People reported. However, there were rumors that she gave him an ultimatum to confirm their royal romance.

"She was saying, 'If you don't put out a statement confirming I'm your girlfriend, I'm going to break up with you," one source alleged at the time.

Prince Harry and Markle announced their engagement in November 2017. They tied the knot on May 19, 2018. The royal couple is now parents of two. They share son Archie, 4, and daughter Lilibet, 2.
