Billy Hayes left a fortune following his death.

The actor who had been a mainstay on NBC's soap opera "Days of Our Lives" for over 50 years had passed away. He was 98.

His agent, Gregory David Mayo, confirmed his death in a statement to CNN Saturday. According to Mayo, the actor died "peacefully" Friday morning and was "surrounded by family including his wife, Susan Seaforth Hayes." The cause of death was not provided.

He had played Doug Williams on "Days," husband to Julie Wiliams, portrayed by his real-life wife Susan. He made his debut on the soap opera in February 1970 and appeared in over 2,100 episodes. His last appearance in the long-time-running show was on Dec. 22.

There are various accounts of Hayes' net worth. According to Idol Networth, his net worth was $1.7 million, and it primarily came from his role on "Days." He also recorded "The Ballad of Davy Crockett," which topped the 1955 Billboard charts.

Meanwhile, per Net Worth Post, Hayes was worth $7 million when he died. On the other hand, according to Celebrity Networth, Susan has a net worth of $5 million. 

Susan is best known for her role on "Days of Our Lives" from 1968 to 2014 and as Joanna Manning on "The Young and the Restless" from 1984 to 2010. She also appeared on "General Hospital," "The Young and the Married," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "The Fugitive," "The Felony Squad" and more.

The couple met on the set of "Days of Our Lives" in 1970. The duo has been honored with multiple Daytime Emmy Awards and cemented their position as soap opera legends.
