Former King of Queens star, Leah Remini, has received some positive feedback from other celebrities in regards to her recent split from the Church of Scientology.

Crash director Paul Haggis, who also resigned from Scientology in 2009, praised Remini in an open letter, published in the Aug. 9 issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

"I can't express how much I admire Leah," Haggis wrote. "Her parents, family and close friends were almost all Scientologists; the stakes for her were so much higher than for me. Her decision to leave was so much braver."

Comedian Rosie O'Donnell also showed support tweeting, "Sending some love ur way Leah - proud of ur brave ways and bright brain ... Carry on - xxxxx."

Others dissed the Church of Scientology altogether.

"Isn't calling Scientology a church rather like naming Kim Kardashian as the most brilliant mind of our generation?" wrote famous software engineer Grady Booch in July.

The Family Tools actress joined Scientology at the age of nine, along with her mother, Vicki Marshall. Her decision to leave the religion stemmed from a reported incident that occurred during Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding in 2006. During the nuptials, Remini asked the church's leader, David Miscavige, where his wife was, according to THR. His spouse has reportedly been out of the public eye since 2007. Her question led to her mistreatment from the church and extensive security checks. Her sister, Nicole Remini-Wiskow, previously left the religion in 2005.

"I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support," Remini told People in July.

Remini also plans to release a tell-all book, which will include her experiences and certain topics that are not permitted to discuss outside the Church of Scientology.
