Queen Camilla sliced a poppy-decorated cake using a long, silver sword at a recent event.

On Thursday, the wife of King Charles III attended the Poppy Factory's 100th anniversary celebration. The organization is known for supporting "veterans with health conditions on their journey into employment, helping them overcome any barriers."

To mark the milestone, the Queen Consort held a long, silver sword with two hands to cut the cake.

"A beautifully polished sword, not sure which way I'm going to attack this, dig in there, it's quite soft," Queen Camilla quipped while slicing the cake, per GB News.

After the hilarious cake-cutting ceremony, the Queen, in her navy dress accessorized with a poppy pin, talked about being with the organization for 10 years.

She told the guests, "I can't believe it's so long, and I can't believe that I've been part of it for 10 years. I'm very proud to be part of the Poppy Factory because I've seen the wonderful work you do."

Queen Camilla also talked about the organization's efforts and thanked its supporters.

"It's so important nowadays to look after these veterans because sometimes they don't get as much attention as they need. If it wasn't for you and all the other wonderful charities that are supporting you, I don't know what they'd do," she said.

Queen Camilla hosts the celebration of The Poppy Factory Centenary at Clarence House on February 15, 2024 in London, England. The Poppy Factory was founded after the First World War to support veterans.

Meanwhile, the Poppy Factory CEO Amanda Shepard thanked the Queen for celebrating the organization's anniversary with them.

"It is such a privilege for us all to be with Her Majesty to celebrate all that veterans and their families have achieved, personally and collectively, with a little support behind them," Shepard said.

She continued, "We look forward to helping many more people overcome barriers to take positive steps towards employment this year and in the years to come."

Cutting cakes using a sword is not uncommon among the royals. In 2021, Queen Elizabeth used a ceremonial sword to slice a large cake while marking the Big Lunch at the Eden Project.

While there was a conventional knife available at the gathering, the monarch insisted on using the sword, saying, "I know there is, this is more unusual."

So she was handed a sword by Edward Bolitho, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall, to realize the task of cutting the large cake.
