Cocoa Brown's Fayetteville, Georgia, home went up in flames on Sunday.

A source close to TMZ told the news outlet they believe a lit candle may have fallen into a pile of clothes sparking major flames that quickly turned into an inferno.

Brown, 51, reportedly tried her best to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher, but the flames grew quicker than she could put them out. She was able to grab her son, Phoenix, 12, and her pets before making a mad dash to safety with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

The actress and comedian, known for playing Jennifer in Tyler Perry's TBS sitcom 'For Better or Worse,' lost her entire property, with the aftermath of the flames leaving the structure without windows or a roof.

"Cocoa, a beacon of joy in our lives through her incredible comedy, now faces an unimaginable challenge as she and her son must rebuild their lives from scratch," the fundraiser states. "While we're grateful to hear that they are safe, the road ahead is undoubtedly daunting."

"Together, let's shine a beacon of hope and happiness in this time of darkness."
