Kim Kardashian Slammed As 'Desperate' For Selling 'Dirty' Birkin For $70,000

Kim Kardashian is getting flak online after listing a "dirty" Hermès Birkin bag for a whopping $70,000 on her family's resale site.

The shapewear mogul's rare gray matte alligator Birkin handbag with gold hardware and double handles was spotted on Kardashian Kloset this week.

Despite being labeled as in "good condition," the description disclosed some flaws, including discoloration on the handles and underside bottom corners, along with minor scratching on the metal.

Reddit users expressed confusion and skepticism about the high price tag for a bag with visible wear and tear.

Some questioned why billionaires like Kardashian are selling secondhand items, while others deemed it "embarrassing" for the reality star, who is estimated by Forbes to be worth $1.7 billion.

"Seriously, how desperate are they for money? And why does no one find it strange that these 'billionaires' are selling their secondhand clothes?" one user commented.

Another user remarked, "The nerve to list at that price with all of the discoloration in the handles and wear & tear on the bottom and lower corners... sKam artists."

"70k for a dirty bag, holy hell!" a third user wrote.

Some critics suggested the bag should be restored before sale, pointing out the scuffed hardware, worn edges and discoloration from makeup or tanner.

Page Six, however, suggested that fans may be getting a bargain as a similar Birkin style in new condition is being sold on the luxury site 1stdibs for $120,875.

This isn't the first time Kardashian listed one of her luxury handbags on her family's resale platform.

Earlier this month, she listed a peacock blue Porosus Crocodile Birkin bag for $49,995, along with several other Birkins, Louis Vuitton duffle bags and Chanel items.

Known for her love of Birkin bags, Kardashian has showcased various styles over the years, including the Hermès Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Diamond Birkin, considered the world's most expensive handbag.

She was also spotted with a massive gray Haut à courroies "HAC" Birkin bag, worth $110,000 on the resale market, in November 2023.

Even Kardashian's 10-year-old daughter, North West, has carried a Birkin during outings.

In 2019, North was photographed holding a white Hermès Birkin bag worth around $10,000 as she attended her dad Kanye West's opera, "Outside Licensee," with her mom and her brother Saint.

Meanwhile, reports surfaced last month that Kardashian's damaged 2022 Land Rover Range Rover SE was being sold online for nearly $100,000.

Photos on a Carfax listing showed the vehicle's deployed airbags, detached mirrors and visible dents.

An employee of Kardashian reportedly got into an accident while driving the car, an unnamed source told Page Six.

TMZ reported that a third party who took over the Range Rover following the crash listed the vehicle for sale.

However, the Miami dealership where the car was being sold told Page Six that the car "looks similar, but it's not [Kardashian's]."
