There's a new update about Kate Middleton's health after her husband, Prince William, decided to pull out of a memorial service at the last minute.

The Prince of Wales decided to cancel his attendance at a memorial service honoring his godfather, King Constantine of Greece, on Tuesday. The heir apparent decided to withdraw due to a "personal matter." So, Queen Camilla led the members of the royal family at the St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle since King Charles, who was recently diagnosed with some form of cancer, was also unable to attend, the BBC reported.

Kensington Palace did not indicate whether Prince William's last-minute decision had something to do with his wife. The Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery in January and has not been seen in public since.

A palace source told People that Middleton "continues to be doing well" amid her recovery.

Sarah Hewson, the royal editor at TalkTV, joined Vanessa Feltz on her show and discussed the matter.

Hewson, a journalist and broadcaster, confirmed that the Princess of Wales was doing well amid her husband's decision to skip the memorial service. According to Hewson, Prince William was due to give a reading, and his name was even printed on the order of service.

"We discovered about an hour before the service was due to take place that he wouldn't be attending. We understand that he had telephoned the Greek royal family this morning in order to explain his absence and apologize for that. But obviously, given the backdrop to this, the king being away from public duties because of his cancer treatment and William's wife recovering at home after abdominal surgery, there's a huge amount of scrutiny on every movement that they make," she said.

"Now, we had a little bit of reassuring news from Kensington Palace that the Princess of Wales is continuing to be doing well because I think everyone's first reaction is, 'Gosh, what does this mean? Is Kate unwell again?' But we are told that she's continuing to do well, that suggests to me, it wasn't necessarily to do with this, but personal matters and not wanting to elaborate any further on that."

Feltz agreed, saying, "Absolutely." The host acknowledged the "massive speculation" behind the Duke of Cambridge's decision, but she said they would not be discussing it on TalkTV because it's "very disrespectful" and "pretty pointless" to wonder what's wrong with other people or how long would it take for them to recover. However, she also acknowledged that "it's impossible to stop a rumor mill starting."

The update comes after several netizens took to social media and asked where Middleton was. They wanted to know what was happening with the Princess of Wales because they hadn't seen her following her surgery. However, the Palace previously announced that she would not be back to her royal duties until after Easter.
