Schafer, 25, was part of a substantial gathering of over 100 demonstrators who crowded the lobby at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Monday afternoon. The purpose of their assembly was to advocate for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war with the Jewish Voice for Peace group leading the charge.

Schafer, dressed in a black shirt emblazoned with the text "Ceasefire Now," chanted slogans such as "Let Gaza Live" as President Biden's motorcade arrived in the area.

In the midst of the demonstration, Schafer, adorned with a face mask like many of her fellow protesters, took a symbolic stand by sitting on the floor. Other protestors held up a banner behind her that read: "Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide."

As per protest organizers, Schafer, along with 30 arrested demonstrators, are scheduled to make a court appearance next month in connection to their arrests. A New York City Police Department spokesperson confirmed the apprehended protesters were charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct, per NBC News.

In an emailed statement, Sonya Meyerson-Knox, a representative of Jewish Voice for Peace, applauded Schafer's dedication.

"We commend her commitment to Palestinian freedom and to a future of justice for everyone," Meyerson-Knox said.

On Monday, the organization tweeted how the "President needs to start answering to the American people — not the far-Right Israeli government indiscriminately bombing the people of Gaza, destroying 70% of infrastructure, including hospitals, universities and the electricity and water grids."
