Actress Amanda Seyfried revealed a shocking fact about herself to GQ magazine.

The Aug. 6 article reports that during an interview promoting her new movie Lovelace, where she portrays Deep Throat actress Linda Lovelace, the actress was asked if she remembered the first time she watched porn. Her answer that she was six-years-old shocked even her co-star Peter Sarsgaard.

"It was a cop -- a guy dressed in a cop costume...it was the first time I'd ever seen a penis, and I remember it being very graphic," the actress said. "It was 1990 or 1991, and so AIDS was really rampant. Watching any kind of sexual acts when you're a six-year-old would make you think you were going to contract AIDS somehow."

Seyfried said she decided to go for the role as Lovelace, very different from the usual characters she portrays, because she wanted to do something different.

"I just wanted to play somebody real," the actress said.  "I needed a challenge-that was the initial thing."

The star didn't actually see the movie Deep Throat until Lovelace began filming, but seeing it didn't really change her feelings about the character.

"Well, I saw it after the first week of filming, during Christmas break. No, it didn't change anything at all. It was sweet, actually, because Linda is not good in it," Seyfriend told Vanity Fair in a Aug. 7 article.  "At the same time, knowing what she was really going through, and the backstory, it was really weird to watch it. The fact that Deep Throat exists. . . sometimes I forget that this story is all nonfiction. But I'm not a big porn fan. I didn't need to see that. . . it's just kind of gross."
