A British actor from "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is reportedly being offered the chance to board the next 007 adventure.

The Sun reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who appeared as Quiksilver in the 2015 Marvel Studios movie, was formally offered the role of the new James Bond. He could be taking over the role of 007 from Daniel Craig.

If the "Kick-Ass" star accepts the alleged offer, he will be the eighth actor to portray the role of the iconic British secret agent since 1962. He will follow the path actors Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Craig first took.

"Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table, and they are waiting to hear back," a source reportedly said.

"As far as Eon [Productions] is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days, and they can start preparing for the big announcement."

In a recent interview with Numero Magazine, Taylor-Joshon was asked about the rumors that he could be the next 007.

"I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment," he responded with a laugh.

Reports that the "Bullet Train" actor could become the next James Bond first circulated online in November 2022.

"Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him. He is one of the front-runners," an insider was quoted by The Sun as saying at the time.

Aside from Taylor-Johnson, other actors considered for the role include Tom Hardy, James Norton and Idris Elba, among many others.

The British actor's year is packed with several movie releases -- "The Fall Guy" (May), "Kraven the Hunter" (August) and "Nosferatu" (December), per Numero.

Aside from "Kick-Ass" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," he previously starred in "Nowhere Boy," "Nocturnal Animals," "Tenet," "Godzilla" and "Bullet Train."

Meanwhile, included in his movie credentials as a young teen actor are "Shanghai Knights," "The Illusionist" and "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging."

Taylor-Johnson has yet to address the casting rumors.
