One Direction 'Best Song Ever' Teen Choice Awards 2013 Performance VIDEO
One Direction opened the 2013 Teen Choice Awards Sunday night with a performance of their latest hit Best Song Ever live from the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk in California.
Their opening act marked the first time the band performed the song at an awards ceremony since it first debuted on July 22.
"And we dance all night to the best song ever," the band sings in the chorus. "We knew every line/now I can't remember/how it goes but I know/that I won't forget her/'Cause we danced all night to the best song ever."
Best Song Ever is featured on the soundtrack to their documentary This Is Us, which will be released in U.S. theaters on Aug. 30.
"Maybe it's the way she walked," Styles opens the track singing. "Straight into my heart and stole it/Through the doors and past the guards/Just like she already owned it."
Band members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne were up for a number of awards Sunday night including Choice Summer Tour for Take Me Home, also the name of their latest album. In the category of Choice Single: Group they received a nod for Live While We're Young and they were nominated for the Choice Love Song award for Little Things.
The band celebrated their three-year anniversary in July. They met while competing individually on the United Kingdom's version of The X Factor. They decided to team up and form a band after the suggestion was made by one of the show's judges, Simon Cowell.
