On Monday, coinciding with the eclipse, Johnson forcibly ejected her two children from a moving car on a busy Los Angeles-area freeway around 4:30 a.m. local time. Thirty minutes later, Johnson drove her Porsche SUV at speeds exceeding 100mph and crashed it into a tree in the city of Redondo Beach.

Following the incident, Johnson's 9-year-old child endured moderate injuries and received treatment at a nearby medical facility. Her eight-month-old infant suffered fatal injuries during the harrowing ordeal, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to LAPD officials.

The LAPD's press release confirmed that Johnson herself did not survive the catastrophic crash, as she was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the collision.

Earlier that day, Johnson allegedly fled her residence in haste, accompanied by her children, after she reportedly stabbed her partner, identified as 29-year-old Jaelen Chaney.

"On April 8, 2024, around 3:40 a.m., Chaney and Johnson became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into Johnson becoming violent, stabbing Chaney, who passed away at scene," the release continued. "A knife with biological evidence was later recovered from the scene."
