George Lucas Mellody Dobson Baby: Welcome Daughter Everett Melody Hobson Via Surrogate

Star Wars creator George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson welcomed a daughter via a surrogate on Friday.

Huffington Post reported on Monday that the newlyweds welcomed Everett Hobson Lucas on Aug. 9.

The newborn is the first child for both. She is Lucas' first biological child parents. Lucas has three grown children-- Amanda, 32, Katie, 25 and Jett, 20--who he adopted during his first marriage and after his divorce. He adopted Amanda while wed to Marcia Lucas whom he married in 1969. After they divorced in 1983, he later adopted Katie and Jett.

The creator of Indiana Jones and Pixar founder wed his fiancée of six months, Hobson, at his famous Skywalker Ranch on June 22 in Marin County, Calif. SHe originally announced their engagement in January, according to People. The wedding was officiated by PBS journlist Bill Moyers. A bevy of Hollywood A-listers attended their nuptials including Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Francis Ford Coppola.

Hobson, a Princeton University graduate, is President of her own Chicago-based investment management firm, Ariel Investments. She is also a contributing financial reporter for ABC News and Good Morning America. Lucas announced his retirement from producing and directing blockbuster films in January, 2012. Disney would later buy his company, LucasFilm, which includes the rights to the Stars Wars franchise, for $4 million, according to USA Today.

It is the first marriage for Hobson and second for Lucas. The couple had been dating since 2006.
