Grey's Anatomy star Camilla Luddington revealed details about season 10 of the ABC series, discussing what fans can expect to see from Jo Wilson and the doctors of Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.

The British actress teased of the first two episodes, "There are some heartbreaking things that happen that affect everybody. So there's an element of recovery from that."

However, speaking about her character's personal relationship with Alex Karev, the actress was more optimistic. She said, "There's an exploration of where it goes between Alex and Jo this season. I'm excited to move on to a happier, healthier Jo."

Season 10 also includes the series' 200th episode. Its complete storyline has not been revealed but Luddington said, "[It] will be a celebration of sorts and a little bit different of an episode. I'll say this: It's not just necessarily all about the hospital."

GA Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes recently commented on Jo and Alex's relationship. She said in a May interview that season 9 was the "season of romance" but that season 10 will be the "season of break-ups. However, she told The Hollywood Reporter in August that Jo and Alex may move ahead smoothly in their relationship, at least for the time being.

"I don't know that we're working toward the idea of them encountering obstacles," Rhimes added. "Right now their relationship is really new and fresh. This season is planned to be funnier than prior seasons. There's a sense of joy from them, and we're having a lot of fun with them. Even a lot of Callie's pain is going to be played in a funny way. It's going to be painful, but we're going to find the dark humor in that as opposed to just having it be either whacky or incredibly depressing.

Grey's Anatomy returns Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. with a two-hour season premiere.
