The Fifty Shades of Grey casting buzz continues to dominate the Internet at an astounding rate. While there have certainly been a slew of household names that have surfaced as potential suitors for the role of Christian Grey, one actor that may also qualify is former Boardwalk Empire standout, Michael Pitt.

With his mesmerizing blue-green eyes and athletic psychique, the 32-year-old surely embodies all the physical attributes needed to don the part of the S&M-crazed billionaire CEO.

In a March Christian Grey prospect article, Marie Claire gave the TV standout its stamp of approval for the respective role.

"He's probably more of a left-field choice, but after seeing Michael Pitt in Boardwalk Empire (not to mention his recent Prada campaign!), it all suddenly seems so obvious."

Fifty Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who's currently hard at work on the script, stated that she'd be adhering to the content of author E.L. James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness.
