NBA star Ryan Anderson spoke out Wednesday after the tragic death of his girlfriend, Gia Allemand.

The season 14 Bachelor contestant was discovered by Anderson after an apparent suicide attempt on Monday night. Taken to University Hospital in New Orleans, Allemand was in critical condition before being removed form life support on Wednesday, according to E!.

"I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans," said Anderson in a statement, according to People. "Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile."

At 29-years-old, Allemand had appeared in one season of the Bachelor with Jake Pavelka as well as two seasons of the spin-off Bachelor Pad. The model-actress was working as a Pure Barre instructor when she passed away, according to CBS.

"She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed," the New Orleans' Pelicans player said of his girlfriend, according to People. "All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared."

Allemand was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her death.
