After months of speculation, Jennifer Lopez is set to return to her judging seat on American Idol, according to a Saturday report from Us Weekly.

Lopez's boyfriend, Casper Smart, had also spilled the beans before he was supposed to. Her beau revealed the news to E! News in a Friday report before Fox made the official statement.

"Returning to American Idol makes sense for Jennifer this season," a source also told the network. "The show's schedule will allow her to focus on new film and TV projects... and, of course, her twins are starting school this year and she will have time for her family."

The superstar previously appeared on the show for two seasons in 2011 and 2012 and was a fan favorite. Rumors even swirled that the network wanted to replace Mariah Carey with Lopez during season 12, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Keith Urban, who was on season 12's judging panel, will also return to the show.

"Keith did a great job last year, the fans really liked him. Keith's a really funny guy. He didn't get to shine last year," Fox's Chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters during the 2013 Summer TCA Press Tour.

But, last season's other three judges - Carey, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj - will not be back. Jackson, who had been on the show since season 1 premiered 2002, announced his departure in May.

"Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season," he told Us Weekly. "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity, but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures."

Season 13 of American Idol starts in January 2014.
