Reality star Kim Zolciak announced she is expecting twins with her fifth pregnancy.

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta and Dont Be Tardy star shared her secret with E! News. The mother-of-four said she was surprised to learn she is expecting two children because it was a natural conception but it is a gene that runs in her family. 

"I'm having twins and I couldn't be more excited," Zolciak said. "I was completely shocked. I had no idea. It was a natural conception, but twins do run in the family, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised."

She said while the news came as a shock to her, she looks forward to her expanding brood.

"I can't believe I am going to be a mom to six children. It's going to be very busy but it's a dream come true."

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star is expecting with her husband Kroy Biermann, the 27-year-old Atlanta Falcons defensive end whom she married in 2011.

Zolciak gave birth to her fourth child, Kash Kade Biermann, nine months ago on Aug. 15, 2012. Fourteen months prior she welcomed her first son Kroy Jagger Biermann on May 30, 2011. Zolciak also has two daughters from a previous relationship: Brielle, 16, and Ariana, 11.

She first revealed her fifth pregnancy during the season finale of her spinoff show Don't Be Tardy in June. The couple learned about their growing brood after she took multiple pregnancy tests in their home.

After the episode ended on June 25, Zolciak shared on Twitter that her daughters were officially adopted by Biermann.

"Am I not the luckiest girl in the world!!!!!!??? My girls @BrielleZolciak @arianazolciak are officially adopted by Kroy!!!!" the two-time reality star wrote on Twitter.

Zolciak's older daughter Brielle also shared her excitement about Biermann legally becoming her father on Twitter. 

"i have tha best dad ever @biermann71," Brielle wrote about the defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons.

An insider told Us Weekly that "Kim loves being pregnant" and that she's hoping for another daughter.

"She really wants a little girl," the insider added. "Brielle and Ariana are older now, and Kroy wants a girl of his own."
