Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson insists that there is more to the story involving the domestic dispute with ex-wife Evelyn Lozada, but admitted that he "never talks about it."

In an interview with the Broward Palm Beach New Times, the ex-NFL player and former reality star said that his job is to "cover the story" surrounding the event that left Lozada bruised and stitched up on her forehead.

"I never talk about that, you know that? For a reason. Let her tell her side...She's the wife. That's my job. To cover the story. That's the way I was taught. That's the way I was raised. If I'm your dad and I know you did something wrong, I don't have a choice but to cover the story for you, whether you're right or wrong," Johnson said.

"So for me, whether right or wrong or indifferent, if that's who I've committed to even though I messed up, I'm covering the story for her no matter what. No matter what. Whether it's my fault or her fault. Whether she antagonized me. Whether she pushed my buttons. You know what? You're right. Period."

Enstars reported earlier that Lozada said she lives a more drama-free life which will play out on the fifth season of VH1's Basketball Wives.

"I'm such a homebody. I don't go anywhere I'm not out partying, I'm not out drinking. I spend time with my daughter, I go to work and do the things that I need to do. That's it," she said.

In a clip for the last BBW season obtained by Access Hollywood, Lozada is seen talking to her daughter, Shaniece about her infamous 2012 domestic violence assault.

"That conversation was with my daughter, she went through it with me," Lozada explained of the footage. "It's still difficult even a year ago having to watch it all over again. That was [filmed] literally after everything happened."
