The Avengers: Age of Ultron may finally have a frontrunner for the role of the Scarlett Witch.

Although Saoirse Ronan was confirmed to be out of the running for the role of Wanda Maximoff, Bleeding Cool has announced that Elizabeth Olsen may now be the current favorite.

Younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the 24-year-old has been featured in films since 2011 and recently appeared in Sundance's Kill Your Darlings. If Olsen were to be cast, the actress could appear alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) who is currently under consideration for the role of Quicksilver.

The twin characters will be joining the Avengers in their battle against Ultron while making their first appearance in the current Marvel cinematic universe. While the siblings have X-Men origins (their father is Magneto), writer/director Joss Whedon will not be able to mention their mutant lineage in the film. However, those looking for the Eastern European superheroes familial back-story, Evan Peters will be appearing as Quicksilver in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Whedon previously spoke on his decision to expand the Avengers team.

You know, they had a rough beginning," Whedon told IGN. "They're interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn't necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they're not there to make things easier. I'm not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier."

Age of Ultron is set to begin filming in early 2014 and  be ready for release in 2015.
