Since Wentworth Miller came out as gay this week, celebrities have poured in to support him, including Matt Bomer.

Bomber, the White Collar star who came out in February 2012 acknowledged the positivity in the LGBT community in the US, saying, "I hope all these laws continue to pass but we still have a long way to go."

In an interview with E! News at New York's Heineken U.S. Open kickoff party at PH-D at Dream Downtown Thursday, the 35-year-old actor spoke about Miller's recent coming out.

"Wow, I think its really bold and incredibly classy how he came out and did it. I am really proud of him. Its very reflective of his amazing character," Bomer said.

Bomer is currently in a relationship with his partner, Simon Halls. The couple has three sons, including a set of sons.

Currently, thirteen states, including New York and California, recognize same-sex marriages as legal unions.

Miller decided it was the right time to reveal his sexual preference after being invited to attend a film festival in Russia, where "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations around minors" and the public discussion of gay rights have been banned.

He sent a letter Wednesday to the St. Petersburg International Film Fest, declining to participate because of Russia's anti-LGBT laws.

"Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes," Wentworth said. "However, as a gay man, I must decline."
