Graham Phillips of The Good Wife revealed on Twitter that the fifth episode of seaon 5 will shock fans.

He tweeted after a reading of the episode on Aug. 22, "Just finished reading episode #505 of The Good Wife. Wow. This is the Red Wedding episode of our show."

He went on to clarify what he exactly meant by that with another tweet, saying, "haha, red wedding in the sense that it really shocks you. not in the death/negativity sense."

Actress Julianna Margulies recently teased that the show might taking a shocking turn in the upcoming season. Talking about season 5 in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Margulies divulged that "there's some stuff brewing that I think will be a little explosive." The suspense ties in with what Good Wife co-creator Robert King told the Daily Beast in April.

"Usually, it's a little bit of PR bulls*** when you say, 'Oh, next year will be the year when everything explodes.' Well, it's not really PR bulls*** for us to say that. This can't end happily for them," he said. "Once Alicia says 'I'm in' to Cary, all the characters are going to be at each other's throats."

It is rumored that Josh Charles, who plays Will Gardner, a central character in the show, might be making his exit with this season. The actor signed a new deal with the show earlier in 2013 but the deal is only for one year. King, who is also the executive producer of the show, revealed a bit about Gardner's fate in an August interview with TVLine.

"It's what Josh is about. He's someone who wants to always explore different sides of himself, and how [season 5] goes helps him decide what he wants to do," he said. "That sounds like there's some contentiousness in our relationship. There's not. Josh is one of the friendliest and nicest actors I've met. Anything that is contractual stays with the agents."

There is a number of guest stars lined-up for season 5. Talia Balsam will be playing a political reporter on the show and Melissa George will portray Governor Florrick's in-house ethics counsel. America Ferrera, Gary Cole, Jeffrey Tambor and Carrie Preston will also be returning to the show.

The Good Wife season 5 premieres Sept. 29 on CBS.
