Following in the wake of DC's latest Batman casting, the franchise may have their next Lex Luther lined up as well.

Breaking Bad's Brain Cranston is reportedly in line to play the Superman foe, according to Cosmic Book News. However, an official announcement will not be made until the actor's current AMC series draws to a close in late September

The site reports that the popular Meth salesman has been signed on to play the classic villain in up to six pending DC films, including the upcoming Warner Bros. Man of Steel sequel. It appears the comic book company is looking to sign on several stars to multi-movie deals.

For those Batman fans that were in an uproar regarding Ben Affleck's casting as the Caped Crusader, they may have even more to complain about. Rumors point towards a 13-apperence deal for the Argo actor, meaning viewers should get used to seeing Affleck don the cape and cowl, according to Cosmic Book News.

Following the incredibly successful model of the Marvel cinematic universe, DC appears to be attempting to intertwine their upcoming superhero-powered releases. While this has worked for Marvel Studios in their multi-phase outline, none of their characters have been signed on for quite so long term.

The Man of Steel sequel will make its way to screens in 2015.
