Gamers can once more catapult their Angry Birds into a galaxy far, far away.

On Friday, the mobile game company Rovio announced their newest addition to the swine killing line - Angry Birds Star Wars II. The sequel program comes in response to the popularity of last year's original Star Wars themed release that went on to receive over 100 million downloads, according to The Guardian.

Scheduled for a worldwide release on Sept. 19, the game will cost $0.99 for iOS and Windows users. However, those hooked up to an Android device will be able to pickup a free, ad-based edition.

The new game is set to incorporate over 30 characters from the iconic films and involves a new twist, according to developers. For the first time ever, gamers will be able to "Join the Pork Side" and play as the villainous pigs.

Taking a page from the Skylanders creators, Rovio has incorporated telepods into their upcoming release. The small toy systems allows you to buy a physical model of an Angry Bird and then scan it in order to access it within the game.

While the list of George Lucas characters making appearances in Angry Birds star Wars II has yet to be announced, fans can check back with Rovio staring on Monday to find a gradual release of names.

In the meantime, potential buyers can check out the game's announcement video - voiced by Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) - below.
