NCIS: Los Angeles' Eric Christian Olsen is the proud father of a new baby boy.

The 36-year-old actor and his wife, Sarah Wright, welcomed their first child on Aug. 16. At 9 lbs. 8 oz., Wyatt Oliver was born at 7:45 p.m., according to People.

 "I've been a part of some pretty incredible experiences in my life, but I've never been a part of something so surreal, so life affirming and so insanely beautiful as watching my son come into this world," Olsen told People.

Currently portraying LAPD Detective Marty Deeks for the hit CBS drama, Olsen was back on set by the Aug. 20 as the cast filmed the third episode of season 5.

The couple, who married in June of 2012, announced their pregnancy via Twitter in April.

"Something magical is happening. I'm pretty sure I'm at least half way responsible for such a thing," Olsen told his followers.

Opting for a homebirth, Wright waited 17 hours to great her child.

"Sarah wanted to do a natural birth at home and she fought through 17 hours of intense labor before we finally got to meet Wyatt," Olsen told People. "I can only take stock in how lucky I am to have this amazing, powerful, woman in my life, and a beautiful new son."
