Robin Thicke isn't happy with how his 2013 MTV VMas performance with Miley Cyrus turned out.

Although he picked Cyrus to sing Blurred Lines onstage with him at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, Aug. 26, he didn't realize how much he'd be overshadowed by the We Can't Stop singer.

"Robin thought it would be fun to include Miley, but he didn't realize how much she would overshadow him. This was his big night and big performance," a source told Us Weekly. "I don't think he would have done it knowing what it ended up like."

Cyrus stole the show as she stripped down to her underwear for the raunchy performance, which included giant teddy bears and plenty of twerking.

Another Thicke friend claims he still had fun though.

"He had fun and was fine with how it came out. He knew what they were going to do and thought it was fun and awesome. He had a great time," the source said.

According to other reports, Cyrus' team isn't happy with the MTV VMAs performance.

"Miley's team is freaking about that performance," the first insider said. "They saw the rehearsals, but those were really played down compared to the live performance."
