Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been invited to reprise their role as hosts of the Golden Globes for next year's ceremony, according to a Deadline report.

Dick Clark Prods, NBC and Golden Globes producer, has approached the duo to engage audiences with their inimitable dynamic on stage again. The deal is still at a very nascent stage, according to the report.

There are no active conversations between the network and the comediennes, who have received an informal invitation instead of a formal offer as NBC and Prods plan to make things official only if the women would be interested in taking it further.

The stellar collaboration of Fey and Poehler won over 20 million viewers of the Golden Globes in 2013. The duo were warmly received by critics, the film fraternity, and their performance also nailed very good ratings.

In the most recent past, Ricky Gervais went for hat-trick, hosting the Golden Globes in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Unlike Fey and Poehler, Gervais had signed-up for a return in his original contract. Apparently Fey and Poehler had agreed to host the Golden Globes as a one time thing without any promises of renewing the gig.  There is no telling if they will agree to host the show again. Both Fey and Poehler have their plates full, Fey has already signed on to do two comedy TV shows and Poehler is busy with the upcoming season of Parks and Recreation, which she both stars in and co-produces.

In other related news, Ellen DeGenres is going to return as emcee for the Academy Awards Ceremony, she was confirmed as the Oscars host for 2014.
