Before any new episodes of Arrested Development are released, fans might be treated to seeing the Bluth family on the big screen.

Series creator Mitch Hurwitz revealed in a Monday report by Rolling Stone that he is working on an Arrested Development film.

"I'm working on the movie right now," he revealed. "I can't get into much more detail because I don't want to scare anybody off. I don't want to be presumptuous about it. I don't own the property outright - it's a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie."

A movie is not confirmed as of now, but with Hurwitz claiming that he is intent on making a movie next, an announcement could be imminent.

"I'm hoping it happens as soon as possible," Hurwitz continued. "But I want to be very careful about not putting out false information. I want to get a time and tell everybody when it's happening and not play with people. Right now, I'm trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things. I'm always sort of superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It's the best way to guarantee it doesn't happen."

Arrested Development Season 5 Rumors: Tony Hale 'Hoping' for More Episodes & Movie in the Works?

Arrested Development received a revival this year after being canceled in 2006 by Fox after three seasons. The cult sitcom returned for a 15-episode fourth season on Netflix. Though Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos has revealed his interest in bringing the show back for season 5, he may have to wait for the film to be produced first.

Since there is no word on whether or not the Arrested Development movie will actually happen, a release date has not yet been scheduled, but at least fans can likely look forward to more content in the future.
