Kim Kardashian's best friend Jonathan Cheban praised the reality star for the way she is handling new motherhood and being hands on while taking care of North West, her first child with boyfriend Kanye West. 

Cheban and his girlfriend Anat Popovsky attended the Intouch Weekly Icons & Idols after-party for the VMAs on Aug. 25 before jetting off to Europe for a end of summer vacation. Before his trip he spoke to Enstars about Kardashian's new role as a mom and how she is managing the newborn with the help of her family.

"She's great, she's good. I was just at her house," he started off by saying. "She's doing awesome [and is] gorgeous as ever. She's a complete mom, like a full mommy mom."

Cheban said Kardashian is completely hands on with North and so far he has not heard her complain. Her family is also helping out with the baby, he added. 

Cheban said "I'm sure" Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner is assisting with her new grandchild and he added, "there's a lot of people in that house. Someone's always helping, but Kim's on all the way."

Kanye debuted the first photo of baby North on Jenner's talk show Kris on Aug. 23. Commenting on who he thinks the baby looks like, Cheban said "I think she looks like a swirl. A good mix."

Cheban added that he has not been around to see Kanye act fatherly with North since they run on different schedules. While appearing on Kris, earlier in the month Kanye responded to those who have criticized his relationship with Kardashian, saying that he loves her and she has changed his life.

"I can have people saying this is going to damage your credibility as an artist or a designer, and I say I don't care, I love this woman," Kanye said. "When the paparazzi surround you - people know you don't like paparazzi [and they say,] 'Why would you be with this person?' I'm being with this person because I love this person, and she's worth it to me."
