The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly willing to give Lamar Odom a second chance only if he checks into a rehab program.

Radar Online reported that Mitch Kupchak, the general manager of the Lakers has offered the 33-year-old basketball player an opportunity "because the organization and the Buss family are extremely concerned about him," according to a source.

"The Lakers are a family and even though Lamar isn't currently on their roster, that doesn't matter, he's a two-time championship Laker," the source said. "Lamar needs to go to rehab and he's been told by the team that if he goes and completes treatment, there'll be a spot for him."

Meanwhile, Odom's sister-in-law Kim Kardashian was reportedly shocked to hear about Odom's drug use. According to a story by E! News, Kim was totally in the dark about Odom's struggles and likely learned about the news via the internet.

The Clippers who signed Odom for the 2012-2013 season has yet to renew his contract for the upcoming season.

Enstars reported earlier that Seth Burton, communications manager for the Clippers confirmed that Antwan Jamison recently reached an agreement with the team which could mean Odom's roster spot is taken.

"Up until about two years ago, Lamar Odom was averaging about 15 points and eight rebounds a game and you know what? You deal with his off-court problems for that. When Lamar Odom averages four points a game, he's not worth the problems," a source said.

Odom made recent headlines after earlier reports indicated that he went missing for three days. Odom has been reportedly been hooked on OxyContin, a synthetic form of morphine - a drug that is considered twice as strong as the narcotic.

NBA drug testers was said to have at least taken six sampled from Odom that indicated he used drug over the last season.

"Lamar is really resisting rehab, even with the Lakers' offer on the table. He doesn't want to miss training camp. Lamar thinks he can kick this on his own. It's very hard for him to admit that he needs help."

The Lakers or the Clippers has yet to report on Odom and his alleged drug use.
