Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will be arraigned Friday for murder charges and leading up to his court appearance, his lawyers are confident their client will be exonerated, according to My Fox Boston.

Hernandez will appear in Fall River, Mass., Superior Court at 2 p.m. on Sept. 6. The former NFL star was indicted on first-degree murder and weapons charges in the death of his friend, 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee. The Boston native was found dead with bullets in his body in a park about a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough, Mass., home.

Before a six-count grand jury indicted Hernandez in August, he pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Hernandez is being held without bail at a county jail.

The prosecution asked that a motion accusing them of misconduct be thrown out of the case, according to USA Today. The defense said investigators interviewed a Bristol, Conn., jail inmate and told him they were there to "help out" Hernandez, but never revealed that they were police officers. The prosecution denied those claims, saying they did not misled a potential witness.

Prosecutors said officers never told Everett Garcia they were there to help Hernandez, and that Garcia was repeatedly told the interview was voluntary. Garcia is part of a gang from Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, Conn., according to prosecutors.

Court documents showed that Hernandez's cousin may have been provided a first-hand account of Lloyd's killing by a man accused of being an accomplice in the murder, Fox Sports reported. Prosecution offered Tanya Singleton immunity in exchange for her testimony before a grand jury, but she refused to talk and was jailed Aug. 1. She was indicted her on a contempt charge and she is being held without bail.

Search and arrest warrant affidavits prove that investigators believe she was provided a first-hand account of Lloyd's killing by one of two men alleged to have been involved in Lloyd's murder. Documents also showed that Information about her discussions with the two accused men was provided by one of them: 27-year-old Carlos Ortiz. The other accused accomplice is Ernest Wallace Jr., 41.
