NCIS original cast member Michael Weatherly is preparing for the departure of Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva David, and he believes her exit will be "immensely satisfying" for fans.

The character's exit will focus significantly on Ziva's relationship with Tony DiNozzo (Weatherly), one that fans have called Tiva. The two have had romantic tension since Ziva entered the series in season 3.

"I found the first two episodes immensely satisfying. I was very surprised by the things I read in those scripts," Weatherly told TV Line in a Monday report in regards to the upcoming season. "I love working with Cote, she's awesome - but also it's been eight years, and we haven't dealt with it. It will be dealt with."

Michael Weatherly Teases Ziva's Departure With Twitter Photos

A melancholic teaser hit the web in August, in which a concerned DiNozzo says, "Talk to me Ziva, where are you?"

The video also reveals that an antagonist is attempting to wipe out the NCIS team and Ziva is the next target.

"Don't worry Tony, we will be okay," Ziva later tells Tony.

It's confirmed, however, that Ziva will not be killed off. Executives will find another way to say goodbye to the beloved character.

"It's not what this character deserves," the show's Executive Producer, Gary Glasberg, recently told TV Line. "Also, [we killed off] Sasha Alexander's Kate character [back in season 2] and I like the idea of doing this one a little different and respecting who [Ziva] is."

De Pablo opened up about her unexpected departure from NCIS in the latest issue of Latina magazine.

"It was not an easy decision, not one taken lightly. I feel like I am leaving my family," she said in the September 2013 issue. "What I want to say most of all is thank you to the fans and to the people who have been so supportive of me and of the show, who have made the show the great success that it is."

Season 11 of NCIS premieres on Sept. 24 on CBS.
