Naya Rivera is on the cover of Latina magazine's October 2013 where she discussed her Glee co-star Cory Monteith's death, her relationship with rapper Big Sean and her admiration for Jennifer Lopez.

The premiere of Glee's season 5 is approaching and Rivera, who plays Santana Lopez on the show, said that the cast members are helping each other mourn the loss of Monteith.

"We're definitely taking it day by day," she told the magazine. "Everybody's really just leaning on each other and trying to do good work."

Monteith played Finn Hudson on the series since its debut in 2009. The actor passed away in July from a mixed drug toxicity.

Aside from her acting, Rivera also has a debut album in the works. She released the lead single, titled Sorry, in August. The newcomer hopes to build a career similar to Lopez.

"It's insane how gorgeous she is. Jennifer Lopez is a perfect example of what it means to be a mogul and have longevity, but still have people like you," she said. "She can do this until she chooses not to anymore. I hope I can say that one day."

Yet, she doesn't want her career to come in the way of her romantic relationships. The 26-year-old has been openly dating rapper Big Sean for the past few months.

"We know so many who are in the public eye dating somebody, and they're going in through back entrances and won't make eye contact with each other," she said. "That's just not us."

Rivera's issue of Latina magazine hits newsstands on Sept. 10. This is the second time she has appeared on the magazine. Rivera first covered Latina in April 2012 and it was one of the first magazines she was offered to be on.
