New spoilers were released about season 3 of Homeland.

As the upcoming season begins, Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) will find themselves on trial, testifying on behalf of the CIA for what happened in the Langley bombing, which occurred on the season 2 finale.

"The CIA itself is on trial," executive producer Alex Gansa told TVLine in a Tuesday report. He added that season 3 will be about "the cost that being an intelligence officer exacts on the people in that career."

Meanwhile, Brody (Damian Lewis) is on the run after being framed for the Langley bombing. He will not appear in the first two episodes of the season, but he will reappear at some point in the season with a drastically altered appearance.

"He's the most wanted criminal in the world, so he has to lay low," Lewis told TVLine. Brody's disappearance will have an effect on his wife Jessica (Morena Baccarin) and his daughter Dana (Morgan Saylor). Dana's struggle will be a significant focus of the first few episodes.

Enstars previously reported about the official trailer for season 3, in which Dana is seen taking a nude picture of herself with her phone as well as performing a Muslim ritual, much like her father used to do.

Fans hoping to see if Carrie will find love in Quinn (Rupert Friend) while Brody is away will be disappointed. There is no future for the CIA colleagues, according to a Wednesday report by E!Online, as Quinn will find himself with a different potential love interest. The report claims that a new person on their team might catch Quinn's eye in season 3.

Season 3 of Homeland premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
