The cast of Dancing With the Stars is weighing in on what they're expecting for the upcoming season.

Pro dancer Derek Hough, who has won four seasons of the show, said that he's excited to be dancing with his new partner, Glee star Amber Riley.

"For me, it's really exciting because you can teach the dancing, but you can't teach the charisma and the energy and the personality, and she's got that," Derek told Entertainment Tonight, referring to Riley. Riley added that she was going to have "a little attitude and a little oomph" on the dance floor.

Sitcom legend Valerie Harper, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in March, said that her husband insisted that she participate in the show this season.

"He said, what better reason than to do it because you have cancer?" Harper explained. She added that she might not be able to "kick" like she used to, but said that things were going as expected so far.

Jersey Shore favorite Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi said that Dancing with the Stars is fun and explained that it was a new challenge for her to enjoy and overcome.

Former reality star Jack Osbourne said that he asked for advice from his sister Kelly, who participated on Dancing With the Stars in season 9. He said she told him to "dive in head first" and "just go with it."

Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson said he was intimidated by some of the female celebrities participating this year. He joked that Osbourne wasn't much of a threat to him.

The Voice co-host Christina Milian said that she and her pro dancing partner Mark Ballas were a good fit. Ballas praised the cast this year as particularly strong but did not single anyone out as a potential winner.

Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
