Prison Break star, Wentworth Miller revealed Saturday that he previously attempted to commit suicide more than once to hide his sexuality.

Though rumors have fueled that he has been dating Luke Mcfarlane, Miller said that he has been gay at a very young age and has battled for many years now.

In an video obtained by TMZ, speaking at a Human Rights Commission gala in Seattle, Miller said that "every day was a test" for him.

"And when you failed the test, which was guaranteed, there was a price to pay. Emotional. Psychological. Physical. And like many of you, I paid that price. More than once," he said.

Miller admitted that he first tried to take his own life.

"The first time I tried to kill myself I was 15," the former "Prison Break" star revealed. "I waited till my family went away for the weekend and I was alone in the house. I swallowed a bottle of pills. I don't remember what happened over the next couple of days, but I'm pretty sure come Monday I was on the bus back to school pretending everything was fine."

Miller, now 41 said that his attempt was not a cry for help.

"I told them, you only cry for help if you believe there's help to cry for."

Miller came out as gay in a letter sent last month to the St. Petersburg International Film Fest, declining to participate because of Russia's anti-LGBT laws.

The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly," he wrote.

Miller has yet to confirm whether or not he is currently in a relationship.
