Pop singer Justin Bieber is sporting new facial hair, joining the list of Hollywood celebrities that have mustaches.

The 19-year-old sat front row at the opening ceremony of New York Fashion Week Sept. 8 and smiled for the cameras with his new facial feature. See a photo here of the new look.

Many celebrities - mostly much older than Bieber - like the mustache look and have tried it on and off screen. A famous characters known for his mustache is Ron Burgundy from Anchorman and Anchorman 2. Hollywood figures known for their mustached looks include Tom Seller, Charlie Chaplin and Dr. Phil.

Some prefer to add a beard to match the mustache, such as Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Fifty Shades of Grey film star Charlie Hunnam. Many stars also grow out mustaches to raise awareness for different causes.

During November each year, Movember encourages men in the United States and around the world to grow moustaches in order to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. Once registered at Movember.com, men start Nov. 1 clean shaven and then do not shave for the rest of the month. They try to raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their "Mo-growing efforts" during the duration of the month's 30 days, according to the movement's official website.

The funds raised are directed to programs run by Movember and its health partners, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation.
