The wait is nearly over as CBS' Criminal Minds will be making its return for season 9 in just a couple of weeks with a brand new investigation storyline, revolving around some unorthodox killings that are occurring around the U.S..

According to Carter Matt, the outcome of the respective investigation will reportedly play out in an episode titled The Inspired, which will be airing on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The CBS network had put out the following synopsis on the future installment:

"As the BAU zeroes in on the suspect of the ritualistic killings they've been investigating in Arizona, a bizarre connection within the UnSub's family could lead them to finally nab the suspect, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Oct. 2 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Guest stars include Emmy Award-winning actress Camryn Manheim as Carla Hines and Fred Koehler as her son, Wallace Hines."

One of the biggest conflicts in the story has to do with Hotch's (Thomas Gibson) abilities, and whether or not he is able to handle his newfound leadership role early in the season.

Another question that's surely on the minds of fans is if any of the characters' emotions have been heavily affected by the Regulator's (Mark Hamill) actions.

CBS' Criminal Minds will be launching its ninth season on Wednesday, September 25. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series.
