Stockard Channing (Must Love Dogs) and Zach Wood (The Office) are set to guest star in season 5 of The Good Wife.

Channing will be reprising her role as Veronica Loy in the second episode and Wood will play the role of Jeff Dillinger in the same episode.

Other recent guest star additions include Jeffrey Tambor returning to his role as Judge Kluger, John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C) as Chumhum's leader Neil Gross and Miriam Shor (GCB) will reprise her role as journalist Mandy Pos.

CBS released its 'Scoop' about the second episode, The Bit Bucket, which airs on Oct. 6:

"Alicia and Cary sue the NSA on behalf of search engine Chumhum, unaware that Lockhart/Gardner's connection to a former client has resulted in the spy agency monitoring the firm's communications. Meanwhile, Alicia's mom takes steps to support her daughter, and Eli works to secure Diane's Supreme Court nomination, on The Good Wife. Jeffrey Tambor returns as Judge Kluger and Stockard Channing returns as Veronica."

In the season premiere, Alicia will be in the midst of a tough court case -- fighting to prevent the execution of a convicted murderer -- while also trying to plan her exit from Lockhart/Gardner so that she can start her own firm in partnership with Cary Afos (Matt Czuchry). Peter Florrick (Chris North) will be busy settling into the Governor's office and Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) will help assemble his staff.

Tambor will also be there in the first episode. Other guest stars will include Melissa George as Marilyn, Peter's ethics counsel; Ben Rappaport as lawyer Carey Zepps; and defense attorney Barry Scheck will guest star as himself.

Season 5 premieres on Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
