Sherlock standout Benedict Cumberbatch, who dons the role of Sherlock himself, recently took the opportunity to dish on both his stardom as well as the highly anticipated installment of the BBC program.

While conducting a video interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Sept. 11, Cumberbatch, 37, spoke about how Watson (Martin Freeman) has moved on with his life upon Sherlock's return. The latter character had faked his own death to close out the second season.

The actor also doted that an "incredible new villain" in Lars Mikkelsen is set to take the season by storm.

Although he didn't exactly give the most ideal of responses when it came to being queried on his fanbase, Cumberbatch explained that his popularity from the hit show comes with a price.

"I'm not like Holmes. I don't have the capacity to compartmentalize. I'm now haunted with, 'But he did want children, and now he doesn't? What's wrong? Is he gay? Can't commit to relationships?' All this speculative s**t. There's a point where I just go, 'I've said all I have to say,'" he said.

Sherlock is set to launch on Thursday, October 31. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on the popular TV series.
