Lilla Crawford has replaced Sophia Grace Brownlee as Little Red Riding Hood in the upcoming film adaptation of Into the Woods.

The announcement comes a week into production for the Rob Marshall (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) helmed film. While Browlee was originally announced for the role in early August, the singer of Ellen fame apparently did not make it through to the final round of casting.

Instead, the film has picked up Crawford, a veteran of such Broadway shows as Annie and Billy Elliot, according to Disney.  The young actress joins an impressive cast for the Stephen Sondheim musical.

Filled with classic fairytale characters, the upcoming feature will showcase appearances by Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) as the Witch, Emily Blunt (Looper) as the Baker's Wife, James Corden (The Three Musketeers) as the Baker, Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) as Cinderella, Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Cinderella's Prince, Johnny Depp (The Lone Ranger) as the Wolf, Daniel Huttleston (Les Miserables) as Jack, Tracy Ullman (State of the Union) as Jack's Mother, Christine Baranski (Mamma Mia!) as the evil Stepmother, MacKensie Mauzy (Next to Normal) as Rapunzel, and Billy Magnussen (Boardwalk Empire) as Rapunzel's Prince.

Currently filming in England, the film is billed for a Dec. 25, 2014 release.
