The 17th season of Dancing With the Stars kicked off Monday night with 12 new celebrities competing for the Mirrorball Trophy.

Here are some of the highlights from the night:

Brant Daugherty & Peta Murgatroyd:

Kicking off the premiere, Daugherty performed a spirited cha-cha with partner Murgatroyd. Judge Bruno Tonioli said that the pair was "hot stuff" while Carrie Ann Inaba said that they had good chemistry and a lot of potential. The judges gave them a score of 22 out of 30.

Corbin Bleu & Karina Smirnoff:

Performing a contemporary dance, Bleu showed off his flexibility with Smirnoff. Inaba said that their dance "flowed emotion" and Len Goodman said that the standards were now raised after their dance. The judges gave the pair a score of 24 out of 30.

Jack Osbourne & Cheryl Burke:

Osbourne performed a traditional foxtrot with Burke, causing his mother Sharon Osbourne to cry in the audience. Goodman said that Jack was "fabulous" while Tonioli told him that he looked like he was having a great time. The judges gave him 23 out of 30.

Amber Riley & Derek Hough:

Riley gave an attitude-infused cha-cha dance with Hough. The performance received loud cheers from the audience, who gave them a standing ovation. Goodman said that it was incredible that they were able to come out and dance to that level on Week 1. The judges gave them a score of 27 out of 30, the highest score of the night.

Elizabeth Berkley & Val Chmerkovskiy:

Dancing contemporary, Berkley and Chmerkovskiy's dance was commended by the judges. Goodman called their dance "lovely to watch" and Inaba said she was a gorgeous, sensuous, passionate, poetic angel." The judges gave the pair a score of 24 out of 30.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi & Sasha Farber:

Dancing the cha-cha-cha, Snooki got rave reviews from the judges. Goodman said that the pair had "lovely footwork" and both Inaba and Tonioli said that they liked how she "went for it." The judges gave them a score of 23 out of 30.

The next episode of Dancing With the Stars airs Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. on ABC, featuring all new dances and the first elimination of the season.
