Katie Couric and John Molner will not be planning an extravagant wedding claims a recent report.

The recently engaged talk show host and her financier fiancée are looking to have a low-key affair, according to Access Hollywood.

"It's not like I'm 22 and I'm going to plan a big thing with a big fluffy fancy dress," Couric told the site. "I want to do something that feels right for us and our situation. We both have kids and I think I want to do what's tasteful and right."

At age 56, the former Today show host has two children, 17-year-old Carrie and 22-year-old Ellie. Couric's first husband and the father of her children, John Monahan, passed away in 1998 due to colon cancer. Now the journalist is ready to take the plunge back into married life.

It's a choice that is seeing a lot of support from the Katie host's fanbase.

"I think people have watched me kind of - not grow up, but grow older in front of them and deal with the death of my husband and later my sister," Couric said, according to Access Hollywood. "And I think they know that I've had some sadness in my life. Certainly a lot of sadness. I think they're just happy and excited that I'm embarking on this new chapter and I have to say, it's been very gratifying."

Couric's daytime talk show currently airs on ABC.
