American Idol Results: Skylar Laine Eliminated
UPDATED: American Idol contestant Skylar Laine has been eliminated from the top 5 on the show.
The five remaining American Idol contestants have captivated Idol fans this week, with many finding it difficult to choose which singer should be the next to be voted off. Many Idol blogs and review sites have been at odds over who deserves to leave this week, and it seems whoever it is, will be a shock to some.
This week the five Idol hopefuls took on songs from the 60s and British pop tunes. Some fans have been unhappy that Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez received so much praise and attention from judges over recent weeks, and some have felt either of them could be in trouble this week.
Hollie Cavanagh has been in the bottom two multiple times this series and she would be a good bet to appear there again tonight.
Others still believe Phillip Phillips has lost his spark and is not inspiring the fan base he attracted in previous weeks, which could leave him in trouble at this tight point in the show. His performances in recent weeks have been a little flat, and that has not gone unnoticed.
Skylar Laine has also been criticized in some quarters as being limited in her range, and by only attracting a niche country following, could find herself lingering in the lower realms of voting this week.
However, voters have been so unpredictable over recent weeks that anything could happen tonight. Watch Fox at 8 p.m. EST Thursday for the elimination show.
