As Pokémon fans wait with baited breath for the upcoming release of Pokémon X and Y, Nintendo has been kind enough to release three new forms before the games' worldwide debut.

The evolution to Honedge, dubbed Doublade, made its premiere today via Facebook. At over 2 feet tall and weighing in at 9.9 lbs., Doublade is a Steel/Ghost type with No Guard ability.

Tyrunt and Amaura were also revealed earlier this week. Tyrunt is a Fossil Pokémon of the Rock/Dragon type. Starting at a height of nearly 2.5 feet and a weight of 57.3 lbs, Tyrunt has Strong Jaw ability and can evolve into Tyrantrum (a little over 8 feet tall and nearly 600 lbs). Amaura is a Tundra Pokémon of the Rock/Ice type. With a height of nearly 4 feet and weighing 55.6 lbs, Amaura has Refrigerate ability and evolves into Aurorus, according to the Pokémon website.

X and Y will be the first of the Pokémon games to receive a simultaneous global release, a feature that was seven years in the making.

"Originally we would have Japanese versions then localise in English, and then from English, we would localise into French, Italian, German, Spanish, all these other languages," said Junichi Masuda of Game Freak, according to Digital Spy. "Finally, with Pokemon X and Y, we got to point where we were efficient enough - we had the tools in place, the teams in place - to be able to finally release them all at the same time."

Fans can get their hands on the two new games starting on Oct. 12.
