Kate Gosselin appears to be a little worried when it comes to the safety of her eight children and her ex-husband's firearms.

Although already embattled in a lawsuit with the 36-year-old father, Jon Gosselin's recent behavior has given the mother of eight a yet another cause for concern.

Last weekend, Jon returned home from his job as a waiter only to find a photographer snooping around his Pennsylvania cabin, according to US Weekly. The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star then produced a handgun and fired a warning shot in order to frighten off the trespasser.

While the Gosselin children mostly reside with their mother, the twins and sextuplets do visit with their father. Kate has not spoken at length about the incident but has commented on her desire to keep her sons and daughters safe,

"I'm doing what it takes to keep them safe," Kate said, according to TMZ.

Jon, on the other hand, has been actively speaking out in defense of his actions.

"I informed the paparazza that she was trespassing on my private property and instructed her to leave," Jon stated after a photo of him drawing his gun hit the Internet, according to US Weekly. "The paparazza refused to leave and continued harassing me and invading my privacy by trying to take pictures of me and my home. I am licensed to carry a concealed handgun, which I then withdrew and used to fire a warning shot away from the paparazza, which is well within my rights under Pennsylvania law when someone is trespassing on private property."

According to TMZ, Kate is looking for a way to make sure any weapons are safely secured before the pair's children visit.
