The Big Bang Theory's Johnny Galecki took a trip to David Letterman on Wednesday to talk Emmys, CBGB, and lightning strikes.

As an actor on CBS's long-running, geek-friendly comedy, Galecki works in the company of several recent Emmy winners. From Jim Parsons, who won for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, to Bob Newhart, who took home his first ever Emmy in the Guest Star category, Galecki is surrounded by talent.

Unfortunately, the 38-year-old actor was left out in the cold at last Sunday's awards. However, he is in good company, considering David Letterman failed to receive the coveted acknowledgment.

"In fairness to you and I," Galecki said. "Our respective categories are difficult to win in when you're not nominated."

Galecki, who will also be staring in the upcoming film punk-rock film CBGB, was once more taped to tell his story about how he was struck by lighting while hiking in Yellowstone. In an effort to make the story fresh, Galecki decided to act it out.

"I'm too stupid to understand the imminent danger ahead," Galecki said as ominous clouds began to form on the green screen behind him. He stepped out on the edge of a cliff to take pictures when suddenly "I saw a flash, I heard a crash. I felt like I had been punched in the back of the head by Mike Tyson with an electric fist."

As for The Big Bang Theory, which had premieres for its seventh season several hours prior, Galecki believes the show just keep getting better.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
