The lineup for the YouTube music awards was announced on Oct. 1 and it features Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Arcade Fire.

This will be the first awards ceremony of its kind for the popular video website. The event will take place at Pier 36 in New York City on Nov. 3 and will also be live-streamed. Filmmaker and music video visionary Spike Jonz is the creative director of the show, which will be hosted by actor Jason Schwartzman.

The ceremony will honor songs and music videos made by YouTube users that have turned into hits over the past year. 

Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Arcade Fire will be performing alongside other top artists and some of YouTube's biggest stars including Lindsey Stirling and CDZA. The performances will also feature musical collaborations from Seoul, Moscow, London and Rio, culminating in the live event in New York City.

The show is being executive produced by VICE and Sunset Lane Entertainment.

The nominations for the awards will be announced mid-October, the music videos will be chosen on the basis on their popularity and how widely they've been shared. YouTube users will be asked to participate and help pick out songs that they think are worthy of honoring at the event. The nominees will be shared across social media do that they are judged in "full view of everyone."

In the days leading up to the final event, nominees will share official music videos, covers, parodies, concerts, interviews and fan videos on YouTube.
