The fourth Chronicles of Narnia film is being developed, according to a Deadline report on Oct. 1.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair will be co-produced by the Mark Gordon Co. and C.S. Lewis Company. This fourth installment of the franchise has been preceded by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010), Prince Caspian (2008), and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (2005).

CS Lewis' stepson, Douglas Gresham, Gordon, and the director of the CS Lewis Company, Vincent Sieber will be working together to produce the film and develop the script.

"I have a great deal of respect for Mark Gordon's work and am confident that together we can bring the beauty and magical delight that Narnia engenders in the hearts of those who read the books to the screen in The Silver Chair," Gresham said in a press release. "I am very much looking forward to diving once more into Narnia, this time with Mark Gordon and his team."

Gordon has worked on films like Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, and Speed in the past. His television credits include Grey's Anatomy, Ray Donovan, Private Practice, Criminal Minds, and Army Wives.

The film will be an adaptation of Lewis' fourth book in the series, The Silver Chair

"Like many readers, both young and old, I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis's beautiful and allegorical world of Narnia", Gordon said. "These fantasy stories inspire real-world passion among millions of devoted fans around the world. As we prepare to bring the next book to life, we are humbled and excited to contribute to the outstanding legacy of Narnia."

The first two Narnia films, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Prince Caspian were produced by Disney. The third, Dawn Treader, was picked up by Fox.

Andrew Adamson directed the first two films for Disney and Mark Johnson produced. Michael Apted directed the Dawn Treader.
